20/20. It’s how we refer to perfect vision, right? 2020 has rocked most of us to our core, but what if this year was meant to help us refocus or perfect our vision?
Some of us, no, MOST of us went into this year with big goals. We were going to graduate from college, get married, start a family, develop a healthier lifestyle, get a promotion, etc.
BUT... here’s the thing. Sometimes, we get so wrapped up in the day to day life of trying to reach these goals, that we forget to take a step back and appreciate the little things or the stages we’re in RIGHT now.
For so long we’ve lived in mindsets of: “once I get a house I’ll be happy”, “once I get a new car I’ll be happy”, “once I lose 20 pounds, I’ll be happy.” There is always something we are working toward in order to become happier.
I don’t know about you, but 2020 has made me slow my roll. Instead of focusing on next year or even next month, I’ve tried to appreciate today. I appreciate the songs on the radio, the hugs from my family, passing by families playing outside in their yards, phone calls with friends... everything. We’ve got plenty of time for tomorrow, but our today... it’s going by pretty fast.
